The Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s Heritage Animal Exhibitor and recipient of a $2,500 Scholarship, is Callie Marci. She recently graduated from Hollister High School and plans to attend Oregon State University in the fall to study Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Callie finds fulfillment in helping others through volunteering in her community. She has participated in 4H since she was a “Clover Bud” at age 6 and has held several offices in her local club and ultimately achieved the rank of 4H County All Star. While attending high school during the past four years, she was an active member of her FFA Chapter and is in the process of earning her “American Degree” this year.
Besides her stellar academics, which was described by one of her educators as having a “consistent pursuit of excellence in every subject”, Callie is an accomplished athlete in Field Hockey and Basketball. In a graduating class of over 800 students, Callie was in the top 20% and is dedicated to serving her community whenever there’s a need. She is also a San Benito County Fair Youth Ambassador.
Please join our Board of Directors in Congratulating Callie Marci on being selected as this year’s Heritage Animal Exhibitor and Scholarship recipient. The animal she raises will be auctioned during the 2025 Monterey County Fair Jr. Livestock Auction on Saturday, August 30. All proceeds from the sale of this animal will help benefit our youth in the community by promoting scholarship opportunities, agricultural awareness, and will help with improvements to the barns, grounds, and event center venues at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. We hope to see many of you there!
